As was mentioned in the causes page, runoff is the worst kind of pollution in North Carolina. These are some of the results of runoff, that we send to our oceans and waterways:
Some problems that can arise from this are as follows:
1. The pollution can affect fish and other marine animals, infecting them, and harming their health. This then comes around to harm our health, when we consume the infected animals.
2. Water pollution has a bad effect on the economy. The clean-up of water pollution is very expensive.
3. More water pollution is causing the levels of contaminants to go up, causing drinking water to pose as a health threat in some areas of North Carolina.
