Green Infrastructure
Green infrastrucure is an eco-friendy strategy for controlling stormwater and combined sewage overflows. A lot of times stormwater causes lots of water pollution because it mixes with sewage in drains. This is all okay until the drains overflow and then the sewage floods streets and will runoff into streams, rivers, and lakes. When the sewage runs into these waters it contaminates them and causes pollution. Green infrastructure is when you use things like rain barrels, green roofs, trees, and things like that to collect stormwater and keep it from overflowing the drains. Places like Syracuse, New York have used green infrasturucture to turn there cities from badly polluted to very green.
