Hog farms are not the only cause of water pollution in North Carolina. Lots of our runoff pollution includes not only hog waste, but also pesticides, dirt, oil, and fertilizers that are led straight into our waterways. In North Carolina, we get a lot of runoff pollution trapped in our unique water system(the Outer Banks).
